Consultations
The committee undertakes regular consultations with older people in NSW to inform members about current issues affecting older people. Community consultations provide an opportunity for older people to have their say on key issues of concern to them. Reports on the consultations are forwarded to the Minister for Ageing and to relevant government and non-government agencies.

Community Consultations
The NSW Ministerial Advisory Committee on Ageing held two community consultations on ‘Volunteering – It’s never too late!’ in the Hunter region on Monday 26 May 2008.
One hundred people attended the consultations in Newcastle and Maitland, contributing their views on ways to foster volunteering among people of all ages.
The Committee are currently finalising a report on the consultations. The report will be provided to the NSW Minister for Ageing and will help inform strategies to increase participation in volunteering in NSW, particularly among older people.
